HyPStA – Hybrid Heat Pumping and Storage Assembly
The Hybrid Heat Pumping and Storage Assembly (HyPStA) is a technical scale heat lab. It is in the set-up phase and the components will be installed the next months.
The goal is to convert, transfer and store heat with water as medium in the range of 6°C÷200°C. Two stratified hot water storage tanks can store up to 5 m3 in total with a temperature of 200°C.
The transcritical CO2 hybrid heat pump will be connected to an adsorption cycle (water-zeolite) that allows subcooling of the gas cooler return temperature. This will result in a hybrid heat pump with increased efficiency/COP.
The HyPStA lab is a platform for scientific tasks and applied research as well as a hub for teaching.
